Friday, January 8, 2010

To my brothers and sisters in Christ and to those yet to believe.

What the Bible says about Divorce?

Jesus was asked about divorce point blank and this was his answer: Matthew 19:3-6.

Pharisees:

“Is it lawful for a man (woman) to divorce his wife (her husband) for any and every reason?”

Jesus:

“Haven’t you read, that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” That was the end of His response to that question.

That was the answer. I have read that passage many times and I have heard people preach on it. But today was the first day that I saw the answer clear. God does not condone, recommend, or sanction divorce. It is a direct violation of His (Jesus’) command to believers. It is direct disobedience to God’s Word. Now when someone asks me the question I know where to go to give them God’s answer. God is good and the Holy Spirit for opening our eyes to His Truth.

As Believers we need to remember that All things work together for the good to them that Love God and Are Called according to His Purpose. If we trust Him and obey Him, He will help us with our marriages. But we need to be following His commands concerning marriage. First command is unconditional love without pointing fingers.

Today I will Trust and Obey the LORD my God and His Word concerning my marriage and my behavior. I will search the WORD for His wisdom, knowledge, and instructions. I will embrace His correction. I will listen to the Godly wisdom of my Godly parents and Godly elders. I will run away from evil and those that practice it. I will run to righteousness and to those that practice it. LORD give me Your strength. LORD give me Your wisdom. Thank you LORD for Your Word of Truth.

I pray that God blesses you and your family with Love, Prosperity, Compassion, Security, Peace, Contentment, and Joy. Give God and Jesus all the Glory. We are as dust in the wind, but He loves us. Until His return.

God’s son and servant,

Saturday, December 26, 2009

To my brothers and sisters in Christ and to those yet to believe.

What the Bible says about Questioning God:

Who are we to question God? Who are we to not trust His Word? Who are we to complain about His plans for Our Life? Who are we to require God to answer us as if He were a mere man? He is God. He is Sovereign. We are not. We are His pottery to do with as He pleases. He says He loves us, then we have to trust His Word. Not part of it, all of it. The parts that feel good and the parts that do not. Our flesh must die in order for our spirits to thrive. God cannot sanctify us if we continue to question His motives and plans. He knows all.

Job was a man of God, but he thought because of his circumstances he could question God and His purposes. He was wrong and so are we if we think it is okay to question God. Here is God answer to Job and Us.

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Prepare yourself; for I will demand of you, and you will answer Me.

Who has laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.

Who has laid the measurements thereof, if you know? or who has stretched the line upon it?

How are the foundations fastened? or who laid the corner stone;

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had been delivered out of the womb?

Have you commanded the morning and caused the dawn to know its place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

Have you entered into the springs of the sea? or have you walked in the search of the deep?

Have the gates of death been opened unto you? or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Have you perceived the size of the earth? declare it if you know it all.

Where is the way to where light resides? and as for darkness, where does it live? That you should take them home, and that you should know the directions to their house?

Surely you know it, because you must have been born then? or because the number of your days is great?

Have you entered into the treasures of the snow? or have you seen the treasures of the hail, Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?

By what way does the light depart, which scatters the east wind upon the earth?

Who has created a trench for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; to cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, where there is no man; To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

Does the rain have a father? or who has begotten the drops of dew? Out of whose womb came the ice? and the gray-white frost of heaven, who has given birth to it?

The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

Can you bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or can you guide Arcturus with his sons?

Do you know the ordinances of heaven? can you set the dominion of them in the earth?

Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that the abundance of waters may cover you?

Can you send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto you, Here we are?

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? or who has given understanding to the heart?

Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven, When the dust grows into hardness, and the lumps of clay cleave fast together?

Will you hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions, When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

Who provides for the raven his food; when his young ones cry unto God and wander for lack of meat?

Do you know the time when the wild goats of the rock give birth? or can you mark the time when the female deer bears her young?

Can you number the months that they must fulfil? or do you know the time when they will give birth?

Does the hawk stretch her wings toward the south and fly by your wisdom?

Does the eagle mount up and make her nest on high at your command?

Will those who grapple with the Almighty instruct him? those that argue with God, let them answer Me.

Then the LORD answered Job and said,

Prepare yourself; for I will demand of you, and you will answer Me.

Will you void My judgment? will you condemn Me, that you may appear righteous?

Do you have an arm like God? or can you thunder with a voice like Him?

Adorn yourself now with majesty and excellency; and array yourself with glory and beauty.

Send out the rage of your wrath: and find all that are proud, and bring them down.

Yes, look on every one that is proud, and bring them low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

Then will the Almighty God also confess unto you that your own right hand can save you.

Then Job (we) answered the LORD, and said, Behold, I am vile; what will I answer You? I will lay my hand over my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further. I know that You can do every thing, and that no thought can be hidden from You. Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? therefore I have spoken that which I do not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I know not. I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear: but now my eyes have seen You. Therefore I loathe myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.

With true repentance and recognition of God’s sovereignty comes blessing and restoration. Our lives will have suffering and pain, but how much depends on our trust in God. We must turn it all over to Him. There is no compromising in obedience, faithfulness, and action. If we love Him we will do what He says in His Word.

Today I will fear the LORD my God. I will search the WORD for His wisdom, knowledge, and instructions. I will embrace His correction. I will listen to the Godly wisdom of my parents and elders. I will run away from evil and those that practice it. I will run to righteousness and those that practice it.

Thursday, December 10, 2009

To my brothers and sisters in Christ and to those yet to believe.

What the Bible says about Proverbs:

The purpose of Proverbs is to know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; to give wisdom to the simple, to the young person knowledge and discretion.

Following the wisdom of Proverbs will give us the ability to be wise and make Godly decisions. Listening and implementing the wisdom of Proverbs will help us please God, Jesus our Savior, and the Holy Spirit. Let us start today listening to the wisdom of the LORD.

Proverbs (God’s Truth and Advice for those He loves)

The fear (reverence) of the LORD is THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE. If we want to be smart, we must fear God.

It is the fool that despises wisdom and instruction. If we want to be foolish, we will not fear God.

A wise person will hear, and will increase learning. If we want to be wise, we will hear what God is saying.

A person of understanding will search out wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their riddles.

Children hear the instructions of your father, and do not wander away from the commands of your mother: For they will be an ornament of grace upon your head, and a beautiful necklace around your neck.

Children if those who want to commit sin try to persuade you, do not listen and give your consent. Do not walk with them or follow in their direction. Because they are running to do evil and to shed innocent blood. In the end it is their blood that will be shed and their lives destroyed.

Wisdom cries out, she shouts in the streets. “Do not hate the knowledge of God.” “Do not embrace foolishness and hate wisdom.” Those who hate the knowledge of the God do not fear God. They are destined for destruction, distress, and despair.

Those that reject His wisdom will search for Him in times of trouble, but they will not find God. Because they chose to hate His knowledge, wisdom, and reproof.

Those who listen and embrace God’s wisdom, knowledge, and reproof will be safe and content.

Today I will fear the LORD my God. I will search the WORD for His wisdom, knowledge, and instructions. I will embrace His correction. I will listen to the Godly wisdom of my parents and elders. I will run away from evil and those that practice it. I will to run to righteousness and those that practice it. LORD give me Your strength. LORD give me Your wisdom. Thank you LORD for the book of Proverbs and Your words of Truth.

I pray that God blesses you and your family with Love, Prosperity, Compassion, Security, Peace, Contentment, and Joy. Give God and Jesus all the Glory. We are as dust in the wind, but He loves us. Until His return.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

To my brothers and sisters in Christ and to those yet to believe.

What the Bible says about: The Fruit of the Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control: against such there is no law Galatians 5:22-23. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are we demonstrating these attributes. If we are children of God and surrendered to Him, the Holy Spirit can start to manifest these attributes in our lives.

Are we living a life that shows the world these attributes? Are we showing these attributes to our friends? Are we showing these attributes to our enemies? Are we showing these attributes to our children, to our spouse, to our parents, to our siblings, to the body of Christ?

In order for the fruit of the Holy Spirit to manifest, we must give the Holy Spirit permission. We must crucify our fleshly emotions and lustful desires and seek after the spiritual fruit of the Holy Spirit. We must embrace the Holy Spirit and surrender. Our spirit hungers for the comfort and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. But we must use our free will to make it happen. God will not force the Holy Spirit upon us and make us live by the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is our choice to surrender. Every true believer should be manifesting these attributes. They will not be consistent in the beginning, but over time these attributes should be the norm not the exception. Our walk with Christ is a journey and we should be growing along the way. Our fruit basket may be little day one, but as the days go by that fruit basket should be getting bigger, it should be getting better tasting.

Every day let us set our hearts to listen to the Holy Spirit. Choosing to let fruit of the Holy Spirit manifest itself through our lives, through our words, our attitude, our facial expressions, our anger, our sadness, our disappointments, our hurt feelings, our sin nature.

Let love abound, an agape love, a love feast to all that are around us. Love that loves unconditionally.

Let joy abound, a joy that does not look at circumstance but the promises of God. A joy that is constant and not fickle.

Let long-suffering abound, forgiving often, “Love covers all sins”. Seek not our will, but our Father’s in Heaven. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not seven times: but four hundred and ninety times (per offense) Matthew 18-22-23.

Let gentleness abound, let us not hit people over the head with our thoughts, desires, frustrations, opinions, emotions, but rather let us treat them as we would like to be treated. We are to show other’s the grace and love that God has shown us.

Let goodness abound. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God 3John 11.

Let faith abound, let us trust the Words of our Lord and Savior. Let us live a life that parallels His Word. Let our actions, thoughts, feelings, and hearts, be pleasing to our Father who is in Heaven. If we do not trust Him, we can not follow Him. If we do not trust Him, we will not follow His Words. But without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him Hebrews 11:6.

Let meekness abound. Whosoever therefore will humble themselves as a little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven Matthew 18:4. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time 1Peter 5:6. Let nothing be done through strife or self-conceit; but in lowliness of mind let us esteem each other better than ourselves Philippians 2.3.

Let self-control abound. “For this is the will of God, even our purification, that we should abstain from fornication: That every one of us should know how to control ourselves in purification and honor; not surrendering to the lust of our sinful desires, even as the world which know not God: That no one go beyond and defraud his brother or sister in any matter: because the Lord is the avenger of all such behavior. For God has not called us unto immorality, but unto holiness” 1Thessalonians 4.3-7.

God does not give suggestions. He gives directions for an abundant life.

Father I pray today that we seek your fruit and not our own. That we embrace your fruit and not our own. That we share your fruit and not our own. That we increase your fruit and not our own. Thank you for loving us, even though we did not deserve it.

I pray that God blesses you and your family with Love, Prosperity, Compassion, Security, Peace, Contentment, and Joy. Until His return.

Thursday, December 3, 2009

To my brothers and sisters in Christ and to those yet to believe.

What the Bible says about: The Truth

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” John 14:6.

Do we know how profound that statement is; “I am the Truth”? Jesus said He is THE truth, not A truth, not SOME PART of truth. That means anything that is contrary to Him and His Word, it is not the truth. Those who are God’s enemy use a very effective weapon, deception. They wrap it up in a nice package and call it by names like; success, self-empowerment, self-actualization, positive thinking, will power, prosperity, happiness, self-fulfillment, the secret, wealth, health, fame, fortune, fountain of youth, love, peace, tranquility, and hope. But the truth is, if Jesus is not at the center of our lives, those things will only bring false hope to our soul. Only Christ can fill the void of our dead spirit.

Where can we find the Truth? The Word of God is the only place to find the Truth. As faithful servants of Jesus we must stop looking to the world for truth and start looking where Jesus said. At Him and His Word.

Here are a few things Jesus said:

“This is the Truth, except a person be born again, they cannot see the kingdom of God.”

“This is the Truth, except a person be born of water and of the Spirit, they cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

“This is the Truth, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the (God) Father do: for whatever (God) He does, that also the Son does.”

“This is the Truth, anyone that hears My word, and believes on (God) Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and will not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

“This is the Truth, whoever practices sin continually is a slave of sin.”

“This is the Truth, anyone that believes in Me and the works that I do will they do also; and greater works than these will they do; because I ascend to my (God) Father.”

Psalms 119.142: Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your Word is the Truth.

Let us not be deceived, let us use His Word to guide us and to teach us His ways.

Father I pray that you will inspire us and motivate us to read Your Words to us. I pray that we will honor You with our actions, thoughts, and motives. I pray that we will embrace Your Truth and not the world’s. I pray that Your Words become life to our heart, spirit, and body. Bless us who have given up our empty existence for Your gift of eternal life. Let our light shine forth and draw others unto You. In Jesus Name AMEN.

I pray that God blesses you and your family with Love, Prosperity, Compassion, Security, Peace, Contentment, and Joy. Until His return.

God’s son and servant,
